Today I posted a musical tribute to a dear friend who provides her acoustically divine living room for my weekly teaching journeys in El Cerrito, California.
The space soars with resonance and complements a vintage Baldwin 1929 grand that lavishes its home in the Hills.
Irma happens to be a student of mine for 4 plus years, and the collaboration has been a perfect delight.
Here she’s playing into silly putty to replicate the “feel” of producing a singing tone. (This was before she transitioned to the Baldwin grand)
Because Irma’s a tireless advocate for those in need, seeking justice through passionate acts of courage, I thought the Chopin “Revolutionary” Etude would be a fitting musical offering for today’s celebration.

Again, Happy Birthday to a special person who is generous, kind, compassionate, courageous, and much more!
